All your tasks are done from your office rather than on site with your client. Your duties may be to schedule and confirm appointments, make travel arrangements, write and send correspondence, sort mail, do research and more. Your employer should explain exactly what is expected of you during the interview process. Because you may be working for someone who is across the country or even the world the interview process is usually done online via chat, email, web conferencing or telephone.
There are various organizations and message boards devoted to the world of the online personal assistant. You can learn more about this career field, network and socialize with other assistants, learn about job openings and more. There may even be accreditation programs that can help spice up your resume or organizations with membership benefits. Always do your research and find out as much as you can about your chosen career field before taking a big leap into opening your own business or advertising your services.
